I have a chance to pick up a 2001 325 coupe 5 spd which was involved in an accident/rollover for cheap. It has 60,000 miles and it runs. Am wondering if it there is a need out there for powertrain conversions and maybe other parts? Basically wondering if it would be worth my time to part out this vehicle? Any and all ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

If it had the sport package, alot of the parts (steering wheel, seats, wheels, cd player) will sell for some decent money that it might be worth it for you. Without the sport package- probably not worth it for just the engine/trans unless you're a professional dismantler.

AFAIK, the differentials and driveshafts will not work with E34s.

Also, if it has the sport package, it may have bigger brakes, which are a nicely coveted item by the E36 guys. So yeah, if it has the sport package, it might be worth it.
