The engine looks to be M60. Is it 530i? I never heard of 535i engine that looks like M60.

Make it 5. GF still doesn't like ours and bothers me weekly about....... a mini-van.

1: she's your gf not your wife
2: even if she were your wife, she doesn't get to tell you what to drive
3: a touring is safer for children than a minivan and better on trips
4: she can get her own minivan ifshe really wants one.

My wife was on the "just buy a minivan locally, why do you want an Bimmer wagon so bad" thing last year. At the time we were expecting our 2nd and I was looking at having to travel to Socal to get an e34.
I told her if she really wanted a minivan, she could sell her car and we'd get one for her to drive everyday. I never heard another peep about it.
Cliffs:
If your GF really wants a minivan, she can sell her own car, and buy one for herself.

Agree.

Luckily, my wife never wants to drive a minivan. She wanted a Toyota Sequoia.. so she got it. I wanted an E34, so I got it.

Your preaching to the choir gentlemen.
Fact is she is not a car person and the car has deteriorated while in her posession (see my post for a bumper cover wanted), I seldom drive it so really don't much care.
I thought she would appreciate a well built car but was wrong. She wants a car that you can stick one finger in the wheel and spin it, has room for our two lap dogs and requires little attention. She is also intimidated by all the giant chunks of **** on the road these days so is more comfortable with a higher seating position. She was nearly killed two weeks ago by some bimbo in a Ford Excretion turning wide across all lanes, never saw her.
It's a bummer because I did LOTS to this car to make it nice for her.
Six in the driveway so the touring will be surplus soon. I like it fine but 2 1/2 liters is a bit wheezy for my taste.
I drive whatever I want without ant complaints from her so I'll try to accomodate her wishes. Given more space I'd keep the touring just because.
Oh well

Agree.

Luckily, my wife never wants to drive a minivan.

that is exactly why I never heard anymore about it from mine. :D

She wanted ME to drive a minivan while she kept her car...

good luck Ross.

didn't ask if she wanted it or liked the color.

brought it home, gave my wife the keys and she took off with it and forgot all about our old mini van.
