ot: Audi 90

Anyone familiar with these audis? i gave up on the B5's. Too many horror stories.

Im considering the audi 90 and audi 100 since the quattros and 5-speeds seem to be pretty easy to come by. Is the V6 a good engine?

I was looking to get one of these cars, its my favorite audi, i love the shape of the 90. If i were you, i would get a 88-91 version with the 2.3 5 cylinder, that way you can swap a 2.2l 5cylinder turbo in pretty easily. And the V6 in those cars is only 12 valves, compared to the 30 valves in the later versions, and personally i prefer Audi 5 cylinders, cuz there classic, just like BMW sixes.

i was advised to stay away from the 5cyl. they arent very reliable and they arent easy to get parts for.

Well its all personal preference Audi used the 5 cyl for a looong time to say its not reliable isnt very accurate, i mean i heard stories too, but there are alot of them at the junk yard so parts shouldn't be a problem.

Plus those engines are like identical to VW 4 cyl engines with CIS injection except has an extra cylinder, i really dont get why people are so afraid of these cars, they seem less complex then a M50 with vanos.
