Broke a rear differential carrier bolt.

It doesn't look like the bolt was loose, as there is still a bunch of the bolt in the carrier. Went over a series of filled pot holes & immediately got clunks that seem to linger in the back of the throat. How's a bolt fatigue & break 2 full threads from the shoulder?

Martin, when I did the rear carrier swap them bolts wouldnt budge so I did it a different more difficult way. I'm thinking that it was heated prior to your ownership (coloring of said bolt) and it might have messed up the hardening of the bolt?? That sucks on trying to remove the remainder though.

I think this bolt came from Jim at Autobahn, with the 3.64lsd diff. I don't remember any gorilla-assing with these bolts, but I do have that 3/4" set of tools.
I'm way too close to a few good yards in Rancho Cordova, ca to dick with the stuck bolt in that carrier.
