So apparently the M50 will also bolt to the 89-90 525i transmission, anyone have one?

I wouldn't mind throwing an M50/S50 in the project. Anyone have an M20 or non-vanos M50 laying around that they would part with? :D

m20s and m50s sit at a different angle, not sure how happy the auto would be tilted, i've done it with a stick not sure id do it to a slush box

oops i just read in the sig it is a stick, you gotta twist the shifter shaft a little to get the shifter to sit straight up, and play with the tranny mounts

well then, giddy up. I actually found a local guy who's throwing an M50 into his E30, and has a nice 160k M20 he's yanking out with a fresh head and all the seals. I'll probably snag that and call it a day. I dont think i 'm experienced enough to do a swap quite yet.
