Where to get the e28 flywheel?

I've searched high and low trying to find one - my throwout bearing is shot and my clutch/pressure plate/flywheel has 130k miles on it I figured I'd replace all of those too. The flywheel especially since it has the classic rattling symptoms of the dual-mass unit. I want to replace it with a single-mass unit from an e28 and I'm having a hard as hell time trying to find one for sale. I'm assuming the ones marked "automatic only" won't work in a manual (you never know)?

Short of prying one out of a car in a junkyard somewhere, is there any place you can find one, even used? I've searched ebay and the usual places, with no luck. They're all either automatic only or not available.

I've also searched around for a e28 flywheel. With no outcome off course.

The only flywheels i've found fitting(that i know off) the M30 is the aftermarket once for the m30 motor. Turner motorsports has them, and also Ireland engineering.

The stock dual mass one is about 30 lbs. If i remember correctly the e28 is about 23lbs.

Witch of these would fit a daily driver the most, are the aftermarket once way to light?

I've also heard and read that it is possible to use a M5 flywheel form a s38 motor. Is that true? Any modifacations? Any other bmw flywheel?

And also i'm curioyus about if i can use the M5(s38) clutch with an bmw flywheel that accepts 240mm clutch disk, also the pressure plate.

The e24 flywheels bolt directly on, no other modifications necessary? I assume you need an e24 clutch kit then to go with it.

Is there any particular disadvantage with going with such a light flywheel? Obviously the car will be a little bit more difficult to get off the line, but I'm not worried about that since it's retardedly easy to do stock. What about vibrations/harmonics?

The early e24 flywheel is a direct bolt-on swap. Yes, get the e24 clutch kit for it. There shouldn't be any imbalance/harmonic issues unless a used flywheel needs resurfacing, in which case, automatically ask the shop to balance it.

There should be no disadvantage with the lighter weight. The engine will spool up faster. I have an e28 non-dual-mass flywheel in my 7. I think it weighs on the order of 19 lbs and there are no driveability issues. As clutches go, it's the smoothest of any car I've ever owned. I can purposely dump the clutch at a full stop and the engine won't stall. I have no problems with it off line. To do it again, I would put the e9/early e24 flywheel in it. The 15 lb e24 flywheel should do fine in an e34. A friend of mine converted his 90 735iL with an e9 flywheel and absolutely loves it. The m30 really comes to life when one gets rid of the torque converter or dual-mass flywheel.

BTW, the ebay listing that Derek linked is a good price for a used one. I would by it for a spare but I already bought another one a couple months ago for my son's e34.

But can anybody verify about what clutch discs could be used if we imagen we had a lightweight non-dual mass flywheel for the m30 we have in the e34? Since the dual mass one takes 240mm clutch disc, shouldn't we be able to use the M5 one, witch is 240mm also. What about the pressure plate, shouldn't it bolt right on the flywheel. Or would a performance sachs pressure plate be the best solution?
