tommorow morning ill be finishing up my valve cover gaskets by replacing the drivers side gasket and plugs. any tips? the drivers side looks more cramped than the passenger side but atleast many have done it here. looks like removing some of the plugs are going to be a bitch. also can someone give me a better idea how to remove as much oil as possible? i just stuffed abunch of paper towels down there last time.

paper towels, soft rags. you wont do much harm but to have a smokey exhaust for a couple minutes before the cats hit temp. remove all the plags for access, scraping the old gasket material will take most of the time.

IIRC, I had a harder time getting the passenger side cover installed around the AC lines. Not to say the DS is easy, but I think you'll find a little extra wiggle room that will allow you to get it in and out a bit easier. Good luck
