Front seat plastics

The plastic parts of my front seats really need attention. You know, the lower part of the seat where the switches are...

Has anyone previously dyed these plastic pieces? I was thinking there was someone that did, but I searched with no results.

What product could I use to clean these up or die them?

The only way to fix the faded/scuffed plastic trim is to paint it with a vinyl paint. There are probably mobile guys around your area who will come and do it in your driveway. Google "plastic repairs" or "interior trim repairs" and see what comes up, or look in your local Yellow Pages (or whatever you have there) phone book under Plastic Repairs or Vinyl/Leather Repairs. Most of these guys can also tidy up your faded / tatty leather seat bolsters too.

What color is your interior. I have some extra parchment pieces and have some extra 'natural' color vinyl paint.

The light almost white grey. You can see the discoloration in these pics.

I was just there today. I even bought some duplicolor, but didn't look to see if they had any plastic stuff. ehh

There is a product called VHT penetrating Color Dye which I used successfully to re-color my faded rear parcel shelf. I have not actually used it on vinyl but it is intended for use on vinyl and carpet. It is a dye, not a paint and if it works like they say it does it should be ideal for your purpose.
Comes in a spray can and is available here in Australia but is made in USA so you should be able to get it.

Mine are painted black. forget the dyes, its easier to paint them. I washed them with simple green and painted like last year or longer ago, and still holding up 100%.

Did it today. Used Krylon fusion in Satin black.

I just finished leatheriquing my drivers seat(Dove Gray) and had the same problem with scuffs and scratches.
The weird thing is that all my seat plastics are beige but the left drivers side is gray and it doesn't appear to be painted? It is sooo much nicer than the beige so I'm going to check with the dealer and if I can't aquire it I will paint mine as well.
It really looks so much nicer on a dove gray onterior. whereas the cream colored plastic looks old & aged.

PS: BTW... while there's a pic of my car up.... what's that diamond shaped thing with holes in the side of my center console? I'm thinking a previously screwed in cupholder maybe? I dunno, but it pisses me off.

I think it's where your safety placards go. You know, the diamond shaped things that go on the side of trucks that say things like "Flammable" and "Toxic"

Take your console out, and re-wrap it in vinyl or leather. That will get rid of the holes.
