Hi
I have a '93 520 touring with the M50 engine (UK) It does this about 50% of the time.
When the ignition is swithched on, and when the engine is running I get a loud 'clicking' noise, like a relay tripping out. I have located it as being under a plastic cover right next to the fuse/relay box (but not in it) in the engine bay. If you touch the plastic cover, you can definitely feel what seems to be a relay tripping out. It does it every 5-seconds, but nothing on the car doesn't seem to have stopped working!
Anyone got any ideas what this relay is? -is it a relay? what it could be doing?
How do I get the plastic 'cap' off this area? it seems to be firmly stuck down!
Thanks
Matt.
