and no, don gale's car doesn't count :D
Something like 400, '88 &'89 only from what I've learned.
I'm trying to find one that's not trashed. Found three so far. One sounded complete junk, another with bad trans, another with bad clutch and overpriced.

Our little dealership was selling several a year back then and I believe the last ones we could get were 1990 models, not '89, and I recall being able to order them until the end of MY 1990 production. One of them, a 1990 now on its third owner, is still running around the area. I wouldn't give you a plug nickel for an '88 though.

oh kay....
i thought they were more rare than that.
i just saw one in a rather cheap general admission/lkq junkyard on sunday, and had to take a second look, both under the hood and at the shape of the trunklid to make sure that what I was seeing was an e32.
it both pleases me and saddens me to see cars like e38s start entering general purpose junkyards with all parts intact (the yard not even bothering to take bumpers or engines/cyl heads/et cetera off) before offering them to the public.
