My wife wants to ditch the Ford Focus ZX3 and get her 'dream vehicle', a yellow Jeep TJ. I have nothing against this... it just gives me leverage when I get to have my own dream vehicle! Heh. The TJ is basically the Wrangler.

Any quick thoughts about it? It will be a takeover lease of sorts (as an example)

Comments:
*ACTUAL PHOTOS* I've added a $500 trailer hitch that hasnt been used it has the compass in the mirror, and the premium factory sound with the sub in the console. This Jeep hasnt even left pavement, I hate to part with it but I have a new baby and a new job in september.

Holy geeze... thats more than my car.

Test 6-cyl manual-transmission Sport averaged 15.2 mpg, even in mostly highway driving. Test 6-cyl/automatic-transmission Rubicon averaged just 13.0, Unlimited 15.0, Rubicon Unlimited just 12.0. No opportunity to measure with 4-cyl.

You replied to yourself? Confusing...

My mother's TJ is a blast. Nothing I didn't like about it.

I like them.. although I recommend getting the 6 cyl.. the 4 is really weak and you will not like it.

I would love to get a 4 door one of these days.

If shes wants power, grab her a YJ and drop a v8 in it.

Qube,
That's $15,600 plus maint, to give it back in 3 years. I've owned 5 different Jeeps, they have their primative charm which quickly wears off. Unless you need the utility I think she'll regret it.
But if you are allowed to park your dream car (the Aston?) next to it then it's a stellar investment.
