Had I seen that clip before, I would have waited another 200,000 km before replacing mine ! :D

I found these more affordable ones on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-BMW-2-REAR-PITMAN-ARM-ARMS-Dogbones-E24-E28-E32-E34_W0QQitemZ120150443488QQihZ002QQcategoryZ33593Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

just put those in yesterday wit a set of Bruno's inserts. Incredible difference over the stock parts with 200,000mi, never replaced. There was so much play in them it was crazy.
I ordered from Deutsch Parts along with other items.
Order was missing one set of control arms but another set was sent out right away.
Their window regulator clips are terrible quality, we will see about the suspension parts. All suspension parts I received were made in Germany.

New dogbones came today:

Ebay specials, $37.95 for a pair w/free shp'g from FPC Groton (which I assume is the same as Foreign Car Parts Online & Maximillians?).

Don't know how long they'll last but they're way better than what's in it now ;) Anyway couldn't pass up the price. They're the Karlyn brand which I've never heard of but look like they're decently made. Same part number 33 32 1 126 476. New bolts not included.

i've got some of these coming in an order of stuff soon. what kind of effects do worn out ones have? would they cause the rear end to feel a bit sloppy? i know worn subframe bushes do this but would worn pitman arms have the same effect?

it'll feel sloppy, may even feel as if the rear tires are steering the car.

cool. that's exactly what i'm getting at the moment but my subframe bushes aren't in the best shape either. hopefully they'll make an improvement

I replaced mine about 3 years ago. Noticed there was less rear sway after replacemnt. Even so, I think I will check again, :)

I bought a Gortons kit and changed the front everything then went to the rear. I loosened the right side dogbones but left them on. On the left side I loosened one but got called from the house and accidentally went the wrong way with a 3' breaker bar. The bolt does not seem to come loose. Any ideas? I think I will have to cut the bolt off, drop the whole sub frame and try to re-tap the tube with the threads. They don't seem too bad so I left them as-is but I sure would like to change the dog bones and sub frame bushings.

I had 21 hours in the front end and after that it was off the jacks in 15 minutes. I am kind of upset about it.

When I changed the rear sub frame bushings in a 1985 Mercedes SL it made the biggest difference in handling (besides changing the blown shocks) than anything else I changed. On that car the differential mount in the center and the two sub frame mounts form a triangle. When the sub frame bushings wear, the rear end tilts before the car turns. New bushings tighten it up. It really feels good and I want to do it to my 525it too.
