View Full Version : Seatback twist... What's the worst you've ever seen?

I test drove a 94 540i auto and the seat back twist was so bad that the drivers seat was literally angled at the rear view mirror. Awful, but the rest of the car was gorgeous!

had em so bad that i had to replace the back part of the seat because they broke it, some people don't take no for a answer

they can take a lot of twist and not break, you gotta try to **** it up

my buddys 89 525i passenger seat. the seatback is no loger attatched to the car.

twisted so bad, then congyinued to operate it until the top of the frame broke.
Found him a new frame fixed the cables.

steel cables from seat need to be re-adjusted,trim.

I usually just trim the outer plastic part.....never trimmed the steel put

Wait for me to take some pics of my driver seat. Waiting for a cool day [hahaha yeah cool day in Texas in Agusut] to take it out and work on it

I should go back and take a picture, it was about like that, if not a little worse, but the drivers side... lol so bad.
Was this customer was overweight? How does this happen? My 89 has no such problem...

My driver's side was at least this bad. I was using a pillow to even it out before this forum helped me fix it. Wow that was a couple of years ago.
