Let it run for an hour, punched in the code, and the radio came right on.
BUT... there's no sound. This car has been sitting for just under a year, and is now back in action.
About six months ago, I turned the radio on, and at first I got no sound. Then after a minute or two it came on, but it was at a very low volume (even when turned up on the head unit).
Any ideas here?
When I turn the radio off, I hear it click through the speakers, BTW.

www.soundrepair.com will rebuild your head unit and replace all your capacitors for about $99 shipped. Worth every penny if you are an oem dash guy

It could be the amp... you need to install another head unit to make sure it is the amp or the original head unit.

like tiger said, sounds like your amp is stuffed.

Thanks... First, I think I'll throw in an aftermarket head and see what happens.

make sure that the amp is getting it's turn on signal, use to be the white wire but they started screwing with the color codes after 91, may be blue, white or blue and white, maybe another color altogether, theres a few places on line with the color codes so you can check it out

Whoa... I just went out and started the car, and the radio came right on.
Then went off again.
Then came back on, but sounded weak and distorted.
Then came and went as it pleased.
Loose connection somewhere??
What should I check first?

Go check the amp in the trunk... pull out the plug and plug it back in.

Where's my amp? I've got a 6 disc changer in the trunk.

Driver side of trunk... behind that cover... gold bracket and looks like a small amp

Is there a way to test to see if the amps working?
After unplugging the two harnesses, then plugging them back in, I'm getting nothing. Not turning on at all... not even like it was before.
What now? I've got other car amplifiers sitting around in my house... is there any way to use these?
