I always had the problem that the hood wudnt open all the way when i was workin on the car. Well i took the hook shocks off a e32 735i and now the hood opens all the way because they are slightly longer then the e34 hook shocks. They are also extremly stiff. I also lubed up all the hook linkage because is squiked and was ruff and now when i pull the hook lever the hood actually pops forward instead of just unlocking.

remove the struts/shocks and then youll see what im talkin about. The hood should be completly vertical at a 90 degree angle. Actually i dont know if its "suppost" to be but thats what I have done now with the e32 shocks

Of course, you could have always just ground a little bit out of the stops on the elbows, but having new shocks is always good too :) I can't wait to do my trunk shocks.

Cool upgrade, damn I should have grabbed those shocks of the 735 I saw at the pick and pull.

Is this just a 735i? or will hood shocks from a 740 or 750 work too?

I think the only thing to watch out for by doing this mod is....the leverage on the hood has been increased, so on a windy day.....look out !;)

hmmm im assuming they work from all e32. I accidently did this, so im not REALLY sure. I already knew my hood struts were messed up, so with the replacement i was just trying to fix that. When you pull the old ones off compare the length to the e32, youll see a tiny lenghdifference.
Yes true the hood is now open a lil further and on a windy day....whoop......just might rip the hood off....but i dont itll get THAT windy in socal
