Well, for your next big post, why not tell us how to pressure test an M30 block for coolant leaks while the head is OFF the engine. If I could sort this out, then I could buy you a sixpack of Dos Equis next time I'm in the neighborhood.

i've yet to see a m30 block to go south, seen em crack from not cleaning out the head bolt holes and they ass down the bolts on top of all of the coolant/oil that collects in them, but that's about it

Bolt holes were cleaned with solvent and Qtips, were dry when new bolts went in, and have no cracks. Head and gasket are perfect, so coolant leak by process of elimination has to be in the block. I wanna properly test it while the head is off, and have a notion to make a seal with a 2X6 and some surgical tubing, plug the water pump outlet, then pressurize to find the leak. That's the theory so far. Got any better ideas, while I'm hijacking this thread? I'm desperate.

your there man, look very cosely at the surfaces around the bolt holes, use a magnifying glass to make sure. if you do have a leak you should be able to spot it.

why dont you put it all back together with the old gaskets or something and then pressure test it? Its going to be tough either way.
