Engine Code Gurus need help code 1232

Well this has flashed twice for me now, Code 1232 - which translates into 'idle switch' - any thoughts, what am I in for? Car is a 91 535ia with ASC - electric throttle body - no ICV... so what and where is the idle switch and what does it do and how much am i in for?

approx 50-100 RPM's. I was having a problem at idle with a flickering oil pressure warning light but if I feathered the gas slightly, the light went out. (this was after I had replaced the sensor, the canister, and the oil pump).

Regardless thanks for the info gives me a place to start.

whenever i go after a idle problem one of the 1st things i check is the tps, i've never had to diagnose a eml car (no tps, icv and a few other things) but it should have some of the same sensors inside of the unit, generally the computer needs some sort of signal to activate the idle circuit, not sure how that's handled on a eml car
