just wondering if anyone has tried plugging an '89 (build date) or later ambient temperature sensor into their pre-'89 build plug... i figure my chances of pulling a good one from a dead car are pretty slim and the older ones are more than twice the price new. the plug fits at least (i tried an assumed-busted one), the only difference seems to me to be the extra length of wiring that extends to the mount, which i could live without. i could even leave the old one poking out for show, maybe. i suppose i could just live with it being -37' all the time, too (it gets close enough here)... it's really annoying though - i just put new bulbs in my obc and now it's the first thing anybody notices. :(
