So since the supercharged 318 tore it's subframe, I've decided to get something to replace it, swap all the track goodies over to the new car, gut it, and set it loose!
Well, I finally found a suitable replacement. Picked up a 94 325is yesterday. Decent condition, runs well, a bit rough inside but the interior will be pulled for the most part, seats swapped for my Sparco Evos & harnesses, etc.

Don't mind the lights, those are going too. ;)

A little nice for a track rat...
What became of the 318? Parted?

Stuff from 318 will go to the 325, then I decide if what's left is worth welding the subframe and selling the car, or part out the drivetrain and send the rest to a yard. 184k or so on the clock.
Lights are a little bit too chromy for me, and I don't like the upside-down angel-eye look. They're real Hella lights, so the optics are nice... just a little too flashy for me, I'll sell em to someone and put some cheap stockers back in. Remember... track rat... :)
E36 is fun on the track, pretty well planted with the right suspension stuff. A little lacking on power unless you get an M version, but tearing some weight out helps with that. Gonna need a limited slip diff, other than that she should be pretty fun with what I got!

Looks quite nice.
Don't bother swapping out the lights; get some smoked lamin-x, throw it over them and call it a day.

There ya go. If its a full track car, who gives a ****.

Looks good. Get the Lamin-X or switch them out from the 318i.

Track car? Take them out and use a flashlight.

Could just be the PO, but to me that looks like a factory M-tech 325is, which is what they offered before the E36 M was introduced
If so, very rare care! If not so, well it appears you've found a very clean enthusiast owned/modded example! Nice :)

Nice find Tim! Yeah those lights are the bomb....
Do you have plans on doing the welding upgrade to the rear so it won't rip out the ass end again? They'll last just fine for normal driving, but the E36 has an inherent problem with the rear subframe, unless the modification is done.
Love those wheels on an E36, are they the real deal?
You need a set of silver Motorsport flag decals, it would add about 30 hp...but it would look sooooo koooool, especially with the black/silver wheel combo.
Have fun with it!

Those were only Alpine. You could also see MTech Amaretta sports interior, which is obviously not on this one.

Lots of questions... this is def just a normal 325, not the m-tech or anything. The rear is not an M3 bumper, but a standard E36 with the BavAuto insert... also, no side skirts. Headlights will be sold to recoup $$ and replaced with a cleaned up set of stock headlights (read: free). Paint doesn't look quite that good now (pic is about a year old) due to neglect, but a good polish and maybe color sand would take care of that. Again, elbow grease is free... we'll see what the budget decides. And yeah, they're real double-spokes. One has a slight bend, but it holds air and doesn't wobble too badly or anything.
Subframe has a little wiggle in it (rear end squirms/hops sideways if you hit a bump while cornering), so it'll come out and have the bushings replaced (since that's what puts the strain on the sheet metal in the first place) and reinforcements installed while I'm in there.

You can have a car for every day of the week!

tell me about it. The 318 was the track car, that's gonna move over to the 325 and 318 will go. 540i/6 is an awesome daily driver, and 535 is hanging around for sentimental value or something, I dunno
