Alarm siren not sounding

Just brought a factory alarm from ebay for my prewired 525i. When i lock the doors with the alarm, the horn does not sound. I opened up the module and switched to on, but it still does not sound. Also, when i double lock the doors, the lights just blink non stop, and still no siren. Panic mode acts the same way. My question is why isn't my siren working, and is there a fuse that or something that may be blown?

Well.......i guess i have another question. Does pre-wired alarm systems come with a siren or not. I'm thinking that maybe I don't have a siren installed in my car. I don't know where it would be located or where it is, even what it looks like. I just need a little help.

Well since i gave up on the horn, can someone tell me how to remove this so i can run the wires under the carpet to the rear cig lighter panel:

The blank/lighter panel pops out, as does the vent. You'll see screws underneath to remove the rear portion of the console.

thanks, so i don't have to take off the whole console to lift up the rear part? I was under the impression that i had to remove the whole unit.

On the later models the prewired siren usually sits near to the power steering bracket!

I just ordered the siren today, how do i hook it up. I see a connector by my driver's side windshield, but the siren's wires dont match it. I dont know if that is the right connector. Where would the connector be located for the siren hookup?

I can have a go at traceing it's cabling back mate, but i've never really looked before, my car doesnt have an alarm fitted to it at the moment, just a remote closure system.

I'll have a look for you later when I go near the car again.
