I posted a few weeks ago regarding a battery or fusible link question. It turns out that my battery is no good. But here's the dead sunroof story:
I used a jump pack to start my car and go to the auto parts store to test the battery and charging system. After the car started I opened the roof fully and drove to the store. They diagnosed the battery as bad and then I drove home.
When I got home I went to close the roof but it did not work. I can hear the relay click when I hit the switch but I hear no motor noise and the roof doesn't move. I charged the battery overnight and everything seem OK but the roof still doesn't close.
Is there a fuse that controls the roof? If so would I still hear the relay?
Thanks in advance

Usually if they stick open - you've got to manually rewind them closed to make sure they synch up again.
It's something to do with the computer getting confused if you kill power while the sunroof's open - it doesnt remember the position.

I've been having this problem on and off with my sunroof. Sometimes it will work, and sometimes it won't. Just the other day, it wouldn't respond to touch at all over a 2 wk period... I hold the key in lock position locking the car, windows roll up... and it miraculously closed too! I haven't had the guts to try it by hand in case it works... then craps out again. The car's parked outside, and the rainy part of the year's coming up...
when it's not working, I get a click from the button and the motor MOVES or something like it's trying to turn for a split second, then stops. No actual movement from the sunroof, but you can hear the motor try to do something, to no avail.

I had issues with my sunroof too. I got to the point of removing the headliner and removed the whole cassette. I found a broken piece of plastic that was jamming the track. I was unable to find where it came from, but it was from the cassette track. I was able to slide the tracks back and forth so I reinstalled it and its worked fine since.

i had a problem where mine was not synced. it kept motoring in the tilt up direction and sheared the plastic bushing around the motor shaft. now the motor just spins and I have to operate the roof with a hex key.
wondering if I can just get the plastic piece?

That makes sense. I'll try that and report back.
Thanks!

The double sunroof on the touring will reset itself if you hold it down for 20 seconds. Try that, then turn the car off and then on again and try a one touch function and see what happens.
My other choice was to try to close it with the door key, as that has always been a test to see if it was motor or switch related.
