Anyone changed the front spring pads?

I hate the way the front of the car looks lot higher that the front, and i heard that you can change the front spring pads from 10mm to 3mm to sort it.

Has anyone done this and is it worth the work if i'm doing it myself? Any before and after pictures would be really useful?!

I just put them in recently and to be honest i hardly noticed a difference. my car is lowered already so maybe that doesn't help...

Agree,

The stock suspension gap will not appreciably change by installing the 3mm spring pads. Try and picture a 7mm difference, not much in it huh? I'd wait until you're ready to instal lowering springs/shocks (if this is feasible for you) and do the job once. Otherwise, just gain ~60 lbs ;)

Hmmm, really want to do it to lessen the gap but it's gonna take more time and effort than its worth i think. See how long it takes me to sor the rear susp. mounts on the weekend and make a decision. Thanks guys.

Thats a negative - I use a breaker bar and a hefty bicep to do most of the work!!!! I don't even have a 1/2" Ratchet and a friend and i have managed to do the upper/lower control arms, swaybar links, discs/pads all round, tie rod assemblies, etc, etc, as well as the whole control arm assemblies on his e36!!!!!

Air tools are good, but elbow grease is better! :D

I would guess that 80+% of the regular DIY'ers here are without air. We get along fine, but would probably never look back if we had the chance to get it.

Mind you, ~ a year ago, I picked up an electric impact thats been great for stuborn bits.
