I'm sure they're the same, I bought replicas. Don't remember the name offhand, the box had an E36 on it or something, black and white from what I remember? Plug and play tho, black plastic, and comes with the proper plug setup per the year. Heated/motors/glass all included/installed.

When I had a E34 M5 parked next to me at a meet, I was like DAMN, mine look big and boxy, so Greg sold me his (from a '91, mine is a '95, so all the "stuff" doesn't work, oh well) and I had them painted and slapped them on and have never regretted it.
The one thing I've had to get used to was the glass-mirror part of it, it's kind of split in half, if that makes sense.

Anyway, I'm happy and that's all that matters.

Like I said though, THESE are the wrong ones for my year, so functionally they do nothing (I have to move them by hand if need be)and I'm not going to kid you, it took some time to get used to the smaller glass, but they look soooooo much better. (IMHO)

The big box OEM mirrors have GREAT visibility, but once you get used to these you'll be fine.

NOW if I was to get the correct ones for my model year, then they would do the same thing as the OEM ones, BUT look better. :D

So, I have them, and I ran into a problem. It's not as easy as just pulling the tweeter pod off and removing the big bolt... the wiring is actually run down into the door, so the whole panel comes off.

Well, I pulled my clips off (literally... they all came off the door, that glue doesn't do ****) and took out that screw in the pull handle cavity, but it still seems like it's hanging up on something high, right around the mirror adjustment controls? I know that center clip thing, and that's out... but something high is hanging it up I think.

Either way, on my 95 that loom is like 6 or 7 wires, and on these it's 4. The early ones are 3 wire, and the late style (93+) are 4 wire... but my 95 540 has memory seats, and I believe that's why it has the different connector. So I'll have to splice in there (my memory seats don't work anyways, so all I want is the power/adjusting wires), but I can't get the damn door off.

And this is just the driver's side.

thanks... I didn't notice anything that would indicate the adjuster comes out, do I just shove a screwdriver next to it and pry?

likethe old ones better... but then I really like my really boxy even older ones. ;)

yuck. I don't like em. I like the one's that are now, which are far better than the older pectoral fin style.

Those M mirrors lose the sleeper image.

Now finding 9" Tstars for the staggered rear look, that's money well spent and it will pay off in the twistys.
