i apologize for my ignorance, but what does the hood-ground ground?
duhh, the hood, right?
so can i bolt a new strap anywhere?
here's a before and after so you can laugh at my rusty car and imagine what i said when i snapped off 7/8s of the bolt.
(honestly, the rest of the car... well, most of it... looks great)

Uhh, a ground for the trouble light on the inside of the hood and maybe heated washer jets?

If the hood gets insulated from the rest of the car and you push air over it at 70 mph - dont touch it afterwards :P
BZZZZZZZKT!
High speed air over a conductive surface = high voltage.
That's iirc!

I'm glad I asked... thanks guys, i'll put one in pronto.
i'll try and keep it under 70mph for now:) shouldn't the hood already be grounded through the hinges tho?

Yeah, you wouldnt get that bad a shock off it anyway, more of a click and a short sharp shock like you get from a car sometimes on a hot day :P
I suspect the size of the ground cable is just overkill by ze germans! It would most likely just earth through the hinges to start with :D
