Paid $3.41.9 (.9 WTF?) for 93 yesterday. Pulled into the car wash and noticed of seven vehicles I had the only "car",everything else was outsized SUVs and vans. All but one of which was occupied by a single person.
I wanted to thank them all for driving the price up to the point where a single fill up exceeds the cost of several CARS I owned in my youth.

1.20 CAD for 1 litre of 91 octane. So that's about 1.25 USD.

Qube

$1.10 CAD for Ultra94 octane. I tell myself it's worth it.

I haven't bought gas in a while cos the E34 is sans interior at the moment, but 93 octane is about 3.25 USD per gallon... right now I'm driving my deisel truck around at the moment which costs 3.45 USD per gallon at the moment, or about $90 to fill it up. Either car I go through about a tank of fuel per week.

I still don't bitch because I have family in England that I visit regularly and they are paying over $5/gallon. If the state and the feds would cut their taxes on gas, I'd be super happy as that adds up to about $0.75 per gallon. I'm all for capitalism and if people are willing to pay $3, 4 or 5 per gallon, then so be it, but remember, for all the record breaking revenue that the oil companies are making, the taxing authorities are making about 50% of it when you add up the local, state and federal levels... even more in European countries.

My $0.02.

LOL... time to move out of a socialist country that taxes you to watch tv? BTW, I'm a dual citizen with a US and UK passport, so don't think I'm hating... I just hate taxes and the majority of european gas price woes isn't the gas companies, its the 150% tax european countries put on gas.

BTW leicesterboy... my grandparents live in Glenfield, you in leicester or in one of the outlying 'burbs?

those taxes pay for things like my socialised medicine and our social safety ney, so I'm fine with it.

Oh... you mean the social saftey net that didn't pay for my aunt's breast cancer after she had worked for the same company for 25 years? Or the one that had my uncle wait 6 months to get a tumor removed? yeah... good stuff...

If you like socialism then don't go striking for fuel cos they need the taxes.

one love... just my view point... not trying to start a war over it.

Unfortunately it doesnt matter who is in government, we still get taxed the same on fuel. I'm sure that the US govt would like to put your fuel tax up but its a vote killer and they would get chucked out:) You can also ask Leicester boy to take a walk along the canal towards Kibworth and ask him whose name is on lock 21. And I dont mean in spray paint:) You will find its mine. Small world

taxes on the fuel are ridiculous.

here in croatia fuel would cost about less than 20% of the price if there were no taxes. i understand that you need taxes to pay for the road building and everything else, but why do i then have an annual road usage tax i must pay? wtf? and why do we have such low social insurance etc? oh, right, it's because of the shitty government.

Coming back from a Costco by bus sounds rather funny. I don't see how you could manage to carry everything onto a bus that you'd probably pick up at Costco...

Most all of the Costco's around here sell gas now. Good thing too as it's about $0.25/gallon cheaper than most any other place.

We actually pay $1.09 / Li for regular in Rimouski, eastern Québec, Canada and in the $1.03 to $1.10 range since last spring ($0.07 more for premium).

Here in the Peoples Republic of Washington State, the taxes on fuel are pretty high- I recently saw diesel at 3.72, and premium at 3.61. Odd thing is that gas stations right next to the refineries, are the highest in the state- gas is cheaper at a station where it has to be trucked 300 miles.
The gas is way cheaper at a local indian reservation that has a gas station next to their casino and hotel- usually 30-40 cents a gallon cheaper.
Less local road taxes.

You'll have to move those poll options up a few brackets next time, so we see what people who don't live in the U.S./Middle East are really paying.

I payed about $3.75/gallon for 91 octane last fill up. Still too inexpensive IMO. We need more gas taxes here in the U.S. to help fund other transportation alternatives. We have achieved a level of mobility that has led to massively sprawled environments with nothing but big box formula retail and gas stations. Energy prices are going to be spiking quite a bit in coming years if we stick to the traditional fossil fuel model. Now is the time that we have to decide whether to impose greater gas taxes/congestion pricing to lower demand and put more money back into other more efficient methods of transportation, or VERY quickly develop alternative fuel sources and keep living the way we are now.
