Where is this valve located? What do I need to take out to get at it ?
Any pics would be apprecitated.
Have a m50 VANOS engine from a 95 525i...
Thanks.

It's under the intake manifold. It's strictly by braille method unless you remove the intake.

It's a pain to do, but if you're as skinny as I am you can do it without taking off the manifold. The hardest part is maneouvring your hands so that you can reach it, after doing it once it becomes easier.
EDIT: almost forgot: if you want to remove it's best to take out the elbow from valve to manifold first. After that it's best to keep the tube from elbow hose to valve on the ICV.

The tang on the fitting to the intake manifold breaks easily. Best to buy a new one before starting, my local dealer stocks them, so I know most people break them. I just bought one the PN is 11611738629 and it also comes with a new o-ring.
