I just saw a car in a nearby junkyard with a memory seat in it. I know the Lumbar can be retrofitted, but can the memory function also be added without major work?

Thanks,

vince

That requires are wire looms, motors on the seats, the position sensors, new wire looms for the mirrors, new mirros etc.
Go to my website below, look for the link to Techboy and click SMM
= seat and mirror memory system.

As usual, Shogun knows! Thanks!

I took a closer look at the '88 735iL today. From first glance, it was black with tan. But it had black front seats with tan plastic sides, painted black headliner and grab handles, black E34 console rear half, black vinyl door panels, tan rear seat, but the kicker was the carpet. The front half was tan, the back half was gray! yeh, really!

The driver's seat is in pretty good shape, minus headrest, armrest and back. The passenger side was similar, but someone had ripped the back of the shoulders along the seams. It should be a fairly easy repair.

Is there a good way to test the heaters, lumbar and memory with the seats of the car? I'd like to think I can just use my trusty dvom to measure continuity.

Thanks again,

vince
