You know, I checked an add for a 323i 1999 that looked nice at 5100$ CAN. The guy said he would sell it from Washington DC for that very price shipping included, that we would do the transaction via eBay for "both our protection" and that I would have seven days to decide and inspect. It's way below half of the car's value, not to mention the cost of shipping. Unless the guy said he was suicidal or something...
I was sure the mileage was way up, but it's not.

Due to a typo I ended up with some prices for 97-98 528i's with mileages a shade under 100K. The specs seemed pretty luxurious and the prices were only around the £2K mark. The (5) ads were from the London area which is even more remarkable. I know its virtually heresy to mention E39 on here but can anyone shed light on this?

Massive frauds ?
This is from a current ad by a dealer in north of england:
1998 R Reg BMW 528i SE4 Doors, Automatic, Saloon, Petrol, 13,205 miles, Blue. Insurance Group:16, Taken In Part Exchange NEW DOOR MIRROR REQUIRED £1995 AS IT IS.All Usual Dealer Facilities Available
Even it they missed a digit off the end of the mileage, its still not bad for the money. Is the 528i a friday car or something?:)
Think I've answered my own question - Parkers values R plate '98 528i as
£3-£4K private sale with 80K miles on the clock. Thought I was in for an early Xmas present for a minute:(
