So, my old 15 inch tires are dead. The winters are on my basket weaves now. Time to consider my springtime options. I'm sick for 16 or 17 inch wheels; me haveth fever:D . I'd go modestly for 235/45/17, mesh or Mpars, used BBS or Beyern (not ready to buy yet), or some nice 5 spokes.
So who here went to 17 with no mods to the suspension ? That's what I would like to do. How's it ?
Any wisdom to share ?

My E39 style 5s were a nice change and contributed graciously to handling.

You can get 17" Mpars... maybe they're replica's but makes no difference to me. Looking into a set currently.
please send me the link - because i have looked for about a year, and everyone on this site has told me multiple times that they were not made for the e34, replica or not. i would love to buy some :):)

+1, but E34 Style 5s.
As long as the stock suspension is in good shape, do wheels first.

E34? Explain.
The hubcenter is different at least: 72.5mm instead of 74mm. Otherwise...

E34? Explain.
Although rather rare, there were staggered 72.5mm hub BBS RS (the #5's) made for the 1995 540i/6's. They don't need hub-centric rings, as the E39 Style 5's would.

Sorry private seller... I'm really excited! Lots of sets in 18" around, would you consider them?

can you ask the seller where he bought his 17's? 18's look good, but the extra weight and tire cost have sort of put me off.
Do you need hubcentric rings to run the 17 inch mpars on your car, or were they designed for the e34?
