Door Mirrors...

Can our door mirrors be split in half?? It appears that they have a join around the middle of the mirror housing/body, but I tried unsuccessfully...

I there some way to either take the casing off, or take the mirror pane and electronics out??

PS I bought a Bentley service book... Still waiting for it to arrive!! :D :D

The idea is simple, but you have to turn/toggle the wheel the right way. I don't recal the correct direction. Between removing the glass pane and removing the mirror housing (the first step is in the pic above, the remainder is sef explanatory), you should be good to go.
