ok i want to start this thread by saying that i replaced my upper and lower control arms last week, got an alignment, and rotated / balanced my tires (and the problem did not go away).
my alignment was also out of spec... i'm looking for ideas here; here are the #'s
After (front left, front right) -- (specified range from bmw):
Camber: (-1.1, -0.6) -- (-0.7, 0.3)
Caster: (7.3, 7.0) -- (7.4, 8.4)
Toe: (0.17, 0.17) -- (0.11, 0.19)
rear is in spec
is the alignment bad enough to be causing this shimmy? if not, i need ideas .
i was thinking of ordering some camber/caster plates from bavauto to help remedy this problem as i can't think of what else is causing it.
