Hi! Has anyone got a diagram or description of the relays & fuses in my front fuse box (next to the heater valves) for my car? It is the early 'low spec' box, which has a lot of relays in, and no CCM module. I'm looking for the relay that controls the aux water pump. I did do a search but it seems this type of fusebox is a bit odd.

Cheers,

Shaun M

Bentleys shows relay no. 8 for water pump on 1989-90 models. Viewed from front of the car, there is a bank of 4 relays (nos 1 to 4) closest to the windscreen and another bank of 5(nos 5 to 9) in front of them. Counting left to right, no 8 is 4th one along in front row

Thanks Whiskychaser. Which page in the Bentley manual number shows this? I must have missed it!

Aha! I see it. That's the 'high spec' fusebox, which most E34's seem to have. I have the 'low spec' one, which has a different layout inside, no LKM and no CCM, just fuses and relays, and in a completely different order to the 'high spec' one. Thanks for searching for me though, I really appreciate it.

Thanks,

My apologies. Hopefully this bump will bring it to the attention of someone wiser:)

Are you in the USA? Are the phrases "high spec/low spec" your description or actual BMW terms? My BMW ETM for your year automobile shows only one fusebox, identical to the Bentley drawing cited above. But this is mostly BMW USA information. Maybe you have more information to give us.

Shogun's info is spot on. Here in the UK the smaller engined cars got a basic dashboard, with no check control, abs etc.- so the fusebox is a little different. I will post a pic of mine when the sun's up. I retrofitted the higher spec dash cluster, with the check control display. However as I have no CCM unit I only get the basic messages on the display & the bonger bongs when a message appears.

Cheers,
