Thought i would start a new thread on this.
As you might know I'm having fuel pump problems I'm sure the pump is dead as i have run 12volts from a jumper pack.
the things that i don't get or cant work out is the colour out the wires at the back of the car where the wire goes on to the pump (pin 5) it is brown and purple i have found the same wire under the rear seat and its knocking out the same volts, today i opened the relay box in the engine bay and checked that the wires where like (all good) but the colour isn't the same its green and purple can anyone tell me whats going on plus there was no volts coming out that wire it was coming from a red wire is there a join somewhere between? what wire I'm i really looking for and where does it run to get to the back of the car?
I know I'm asking a lot but I'm really hoping someone knows what I'm going on about because i don't think even i do now lol
cheers for any help guys

bumped for worthyness
I have a fuel pump thread going on as well and I noticed exactly the same thing.
Is there a wiring diagram out there that lists the colors and where the wires run too? That would sure help eh?

cheers for the links dude so the fuse is after the relay i thought it was before humm time to pull the fuse box out and get a look under and see whats what.
Im guessing that as the wire runs to the pump after the fuse box its going to run down the left hand side of the car somewhere. but now i know things are looking up worst way i'll run a new cable from fuse 23 to the pump.
thanks again shogun

See Ferret thread for wires, cheat and run two wires from tank, piggy-backed up to parcel shelf and small bulb, then you can run and test but I`ll bet its working, get cleaning!

Ferrets thread is old and the pictures dont work, but i have tested the pump and its shot just going to order a new one also going to sort out wires to the back of the car with a new relay and run a new wire from fuse 23 to the pump :D

Dont bet on it being shot, you`ve posted so many threads on this problem it would be easier to stick to one.I described how to get it out on another thread, strip it before you spend moola, bet the gauze is blocked.

You're planning on running new wires from 23 to the pump?
If you do decide to go ahead and do this - please take pictures - I might end up having to do the same thing - and I'd love to see someones process for doing it.

Ok ill give the pump a good clean up before i get a new one it cant hurt and would save me £££ but im not holding out to much hope for it, if the pump is blocked or stuck its been like it for so long im guessing it would have burnt out.
But hey fingers crossed :)

Im going to rewire just because the power that goes to the pump is only about 6volts so im guessing the wire has a break somewhere so im thinking it would be better to re-run the cable just so i know its going to give the new pump 12volts ;)
