Hi,

Does sound like the LKM, which controls the lights, is acting up; a fairly typical problem on the E34. The solution is to pull it out, reflow the solder joints (which crack with age, giving intermittent connections) and reinsert the module.

Most of the time that cures the problem.

Regards,
Adnan

When I was at my car today, i had the trunk open and i was cheeking a few things around the car. I noticed the parking lights were on. Then i saw them flicker, then turn off. Then I realized I never turned the lights on and thought, that isn't supposed to happen... or maybe? Is this a hiccup or a feature that i didn't know about?

"i had the trunk open and i was cheeking a few things around the car."

LMK or trunk wiring loom.

I'll keep an eye on the lights from now on. I changed the LKM a while back to a newer model so I hope it's not that again. Thanks for the feedback

Are you sure it was parking lights and not brake lights? Our brake light switches are known to be troublesome.
