e34 sedan tail lights vs e34 touring tail lights

I'm buying aftermarket tail lights for my e34 touring 1992. But I checked part numbers on www.realoem.com and the part numbers for the sedan are 63211389011 and 63211389012

Where as the part numbers for the touring are 63218355892 and 63218355893

I can see that they are 2 different sizes from the bently manual cover picture. Any idea's?

Not really sure what the question is here... If you've bought sedan tails for your wagon, they won't fit. There are no reproduction tail-lights available on the market. The only replacements are OEM.

On the same note, I wonder if u could buy aftermarket white blinker tail lights for the sedan, cut out the white piece of plastic (carefully :D) and glue it on the touring tail lights after removing the yellow/amber piece (carefullyX2 ;))there..

Do the OEM have clears or smoked, I cant stand the Amber in the corner, going to ruin the whole back end.

OEM amber is IT for the iT.

unless radicast re-releases the clear marker insert, so you can hack the touring lights and fit it instead of amber.

bo's links show the radicast insert, and painting the lenses black (or red)

Actually I was thinking about getting some from the scrapyard, just to practice with the transparent black spray that I´m gonna buy eventually.. :) but then a new problem arises, I´ll have to get amber front blinkers to paint too.. Arggghhhh :D

Disregard the vents, didnt come out properly on the picture, the tailgate will have the middle blue so i really want a clean back, thats why theres no emblem or badge.

Hell, I even molded where the quarter panels meet because of that ugly line:

I dont want that exact look that they are offering, it's a bit much for my liking. I'm going to open the Tail Light, paint the Amber's with Red and then light-medium tint the whole Tail Light for a more even look.

The fender vents are actually E60 M5 Replica Vents WITHOUT the M5 Badge.
The hood vents are custom and wont look anything like the picture.
It's Estroil Blue that going down the middle of the hood, roof and tail gate as well as the side moldings and bumper impact strips.
Clear Coat is getting Estroil Blue Flakes in it to blend the whole stripe into the car...

If the final result isn't what I hope I'll just finish paintint the car completely Estroil Blue.

hood vents i can understand if you have a turbo or plan on one, but the fender vents??? cheap 3 series theatrics when new, and utterly pointless on an e34. I've seen those and the z3 gills on so many japanese compacts it is now laughable.

That touring is beautiful in silver. For the love of God - LEAVE HER ALONE. There is nothing better than a subtle station wagon that hauls ass. The theatrics (contrasting paint, gills, illuminated nozzles and mirrors, etc...) are for the ricer crowd.

I reserve my comments on your choice of aesthetic 'upgrades'. However, in terms of tail lights, consider painting/tinting your own if you want a cheap, fast solution.

+1000 What AE said. That blue on the silver? I thought you were joking initially, especially when you mentioned that you're installing gills. But you're serious.... and I just noticed the illuminated nozzles....

That touring is beautiful in silver. For the love of God - LEAVE HER ALONE. There is nothing better than a subtle station wagon that hauls ass. The theatrics (contrasting paint, gills, illuminated nozzles and mirrors, etc...) are for the ricer crowd.

The Nozzles, Mirror Lights and Side Marker Lights have all been taken off, it's an old pic

The grills dont look good in the picture, just ignore them till they're done properly.

The whole car is getting blue flakes so it will all blend it, if it doesnt, ill just finish the car completely in blue.
