yes yes yes......classic e34 problem,shimmy at 50 mph = control arm bushings....because you have the clunk as well you need new arms and new buhings.BMA will sell you the arms with 750 or m5 bushings(not 100 per cent sure on the M5 bushings atually) already pressed in.repleace bot becuse its only a matter of time before the other one goes,unless the LH has been done recently

if my bottom control arm is worn ie the ball joint has clunking and movement would my wheel shudder because it does at 50mph and over the shudder seems to come from the right front [and thats the control arms that worn] any ideas please................

I had the same problem a while back - changed the lower arms out and the car felt SO much better!
Did you get it sorted in the end?
