So I go down to remove the MAF from wife's Focus to clean, and notice a bent drivers wheel. She doesn't look surprised (strangely enough). It's most likely from a pothole. Given it's Made in China, lightweight, but cast 17"... probably cheaper to replace the set.

How much would a ballpark to be to fix a bend on the rim? Somehow she didn't notice any vibes? I'm going to drive it tonight after cleaning the MAF to see...

Check ebay, craigslist and recycler. You can probably get a whole set for $100 with decent tires. I got aluminum rims and tires to replace the steel on my parents for about $120. Factory rims are pretty worthless for most brands.

A big hit bent it, another big hit properly placed may straighten it.
Aluminum rims are soft and sometimes put right with a well placed blow.
A BIG sledge hammer(15#er works well) swung on the right spot with a wad of rags to cushion the blow sometimes works wonders. I've seen it done, the rim then put on a balancer and everything A-okay.
You have nothing to loose.

It will cost more to fix than replace one, but then since I can't find it on tire rack anymore, have to find a full set of 17s to preserve the tires...

Seen worse, try it.
The price you pay for being a slave to fashion. I've got a real nice set of snow tires with actual sidewalls all mounted and ready to go..

Does the Focus have a full size spare? I guess it's a long shot but the same thing happened to my e34 and I forgot all about the spare.
