trans problem on my last leg, help!

okay so my '00 540 6spd trans decided to get stuck into first gear. before I go ripping apart this 6spd, does anyone have..or know where i can get a 6spd getrag s6s 420g repair manual? I can't find any that have a breakdown of the internals of the transmission.

okay, still haven't found anything, does anyone have any advice for a transmission rookie? i've done tons of automotive work, but have never taken apart a transmission. if i take the housing apart, will a bunch of springs and gears pop and fall out? some advice is needed, thanks.

Does Bentley E39 Service Manual cover this?

The Bentley covers R&R only. As I understand the trannys are difficult to service because the cases are pressed together, requiring all sorts of special tools.
Stuck in one gear sounds like something with the selector shaft so perhaps there is hope for a DIY.

i'm hoping. yeah, the bentley manual is external only. hopefully i can get this fixed and sell the car. for a kid in college, this thing is getting too expensive.
