signature pic, cuz here comes new wheels babyyy! Found a set of good condition throwing stars, E34 spec, non-staggered from a CCA member in San Diego, with Kumho's (35% tread left) for about $1200. I'm going to work him down a bit because of the minor knicks on them.
Anyway, to the good part, questions and pics...
1) So I'm going from 235/60/15's to 235/45/17. No more beef, but whatever! The calculator (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html) shows a 3.0% speed difference. Is there a way to adjust the computer to read for this? Also, I shouldn't experience any rubbing issues or any of that, correct?
2) Kumhos's. Nuff said, right? So what should I throw on the bad boys.
3) I have my regular 235/60/15, 15" (of course) spare. If I have some event (blowout, flat), and I mount the 15" with the 17"s, what kind of hellish experience will I experience for the day or two until I can get a new tire? Should I hunt for 1 more t-star?
4) So I have my honeycombs (sig picture). Anyone want em? Pretty good condition, MINOR rash in a small area on 2 of the wheels, other wise they just need a good clay bar to remove all the nasty brake dust and plenty of treat with 3 Nittos and 1 Michelin (got a flat).
5) SHOULD I GET THEM!?!? Haha, and if so, what do you think is a fair price?
So I'll be driving to San Diego Saturday morning to mount em and ya!
PS: So 2 of them have MINOR knicks on the outside of the wheels, we went over every picture and the rest of the things other than on the lip are water or optical stuff. Can these things be fixed easily or for a minor cost, or should I just go by that online "NASA" guide showing the Porche wheels? The only other thing is hes not sure of the condition of the inside black parts (covers off) and there is some stuck brake dust on picture #1, this should come off with a clay bar right?
THANKS GUYS, PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE
