Rebuilt caliper, protective plug for guide bush doesn't fit? Bot calipers off ebay with claimed 5k miles on rebuild. Good buy. Got the rotors and pads too. All looked like 5k mile wear or less and are working great.
EXCEPT, the protective plugs for the guide bush/guiding bolt (guide pin) were missing. No problem, tried salvage plugs from '85 535 calipers with the same part number in REALOEM as the '89 525.
WRONG, the plugs were too small. Don't like idea of crud fouling guide pins and screwing up the sliding action followed by screwed up rotors.
Does REALOEM have the wrong part numbers, are the calipers not 525, or do rebuilds overbore for the guide bush/guide pin and use after market replacement parts?
