Oxidized paint before and after pics.

I've been meaning to put these up for awhile, but just lazy I guess. Someone recommended einszett products for the paint, and I gave it a try. Here's my results.

Ok... sorry... my method:

Keep in mind I don't know much about this at ALL, and I got FANTASTIC results. Someone on the board here recommended the einszett, so I just gave it a try.

I bought the yellow bottle "Paint Cleaner", and the green bottle "Paint Polish", and also some carnauba wax from the local shop.

People told me to invest in a portercable, which sounded like a good idea, but I was broke and didn't want to spend.

I went to walmart and picked up a $15 buffer.

Washed the car. Then started with the paint cleaner. THIS STUFF IS LIKE MAGIC. I dripped a little on the trunk lid, buffed for a minute, waited for it to dry, and wiped off to reveal the shiny paint.

Now... keep in mind the "paint cleaner" is strong stuff. It's almost a "cut and polish" in how you're pretty much cutting through an entire layer of the paint to reveal another layer underneath. By the time I was finished with the paint cleaner, I'd gone through 4-5 buffer covers, and they were all covered in red paint.

After this, the car looked pretty much amazing. It's like magic on how easy it was, and how well it looked just after one run through with this stuff.

Secondly, I went over the entire car with the "paint polish" the same way I did with the "cleaner". The car looked immaculate. I could barely believe it.

Thirdly, I waxed the entire car.

Then washed it.

The entire process took about 8-9 hours, and my arms were sore as hell, but it was well worth it.

I did this in a buddies garage, and throughout the day people were stopping by. At first, people thought the car was a piece of shite. By the end of the day, I had people saying, "man, that's a beautiful car!".

Also, my friend couldn't believe his eye's after the first spot I did on the trunk. He literally talked about it for over a week, and still brings it up now and again.

I was told to wax it again about 8 weeks later, or it would quickly turn to shite again. Well, I got lazy, and about 4 months later, I could see it was starting to dull again.

Last week I pulled out just the paint polish, and wax, and spent another day on it. Looks incredible right now, and this time, I'll be sure to wax it again in a few weeks.

I'm no detailer, and I don't have a "technique" per say. I just spent $15 on the product, bought a cheapo buffer, and away we went. The product really is that good.

Thanks for that - I tend to wax mine quite often anyway but the bonnet has like a whitish kind of oxidation thing going on. Hopefully this stuff will be the end of it!

Very nice indeed. I invested quite a bit in the Zano Brothers product line as well as a Porter Cable. Last summer (one of the bloody hottest days of the summer I might add) I put them to use. My car looked similarly drab, although not quite as oxidized as yours... Yours came out great.

This was mine after a regular wash/wax session. The metal body panels were ok. But the bumper covers looked similar to your trunk, etc.

The non clear coat & non metallic finishes seem indestructible.

You can polish them back to a shine, even when they are abused.

Did my 525 by hand…it was a f’ing amazing how years of neglect just buffed away
