Hi...recently acquired an 88' 530i (uk) and, as i trawl through forums etc, I notice hardly anyone has an early 530i. Did they ever do them in the US? Im loving the motor...Its a manual and fully loaded except for leather, really happy I didn't go for a 535i now as having drivin both, mines way better for motorway work, it seems alot smoother than the 3.5 and really hoons anwhere above 70mph......still gives me 24 compined mpg!

Just wondering of anyone else on the boards has one and what upgrades/retro-fits people recomend??...Thanks

Us US folks never for the M30 530i. I'd probably be rocking one if we did though. It's the perfect size for a six cylinder IMO.

I'd say all the standard E34 upgrades would apply, regardless. Some lowering springs + sport shocks + sway bars + bigger wheels will help the handling immensely. I'm not sure what software options are available for the M30B30, but a chip is generally the best bang for your buck horsepower enhancer.
