I sold our '90 525iA tonight to a nice college student. We owned this one for 6 or 7 years. I bought it for my wife who drove it for a year or two and then it was passed down to my three kids.
It was one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned and I never worried about their safety while they were in it. Over the 6-7 years I probably put less than $2K into repairs. That's pretty cheap driving! It had 228K on it when the new owner drove off. It was like seeing an old friend drive away.
Before I get too sentimental, I want to thank all the members here who helped me answer questions that helped keep her running. I gave the new owner (who said he was a DIY'er) my Bentley Manual and this forum address.
Next I'm going to sell my e39, but I'm keeping my e38 so I'm still a bimmer guy.
Vaya ConDios!!
