idling problems ...intake gasket??

I noticed that I forgot to put on one of the intake to cylinder head gaskets...I am also getting fault code 1215 ...(mass air flow sens)...and my main problem is that when I start the car it revs really high..withou accelerator depression... would not having this gasket cause my motor to generate this fault code..and rev like this?"???
