LOL! That is ridiculous.

The mileage would put me off straight away... It averages out at about 3 miles a week, I don't see the point?! These cars need to be driven, not sit there day after day even if it is in a garage it's still not good for it IMO.

If you don't ask you won't get I was always told.
Maybe the seller would rather have one of these?

They are happy being broken, cost way too much for what they are and are engineering disasters!
As soon as fiat bought them the whole company went down the toilet imo

I'll give you that the engineering on the older cars was a bit casual but this is part of the "Italianness" of them. The newer cars are world class in every regard.
As far as value goes, there is a diminishing bang for the buck as you go up the scale. Ferrari is rather high on the fun and performance scales.
There are many redeeming qualities that, to me at least, outweigh the negagtives. Not the least of which is the sound of it's V12 screaming bloody murder at redline while the scenery becomes a blur.http://www.blinkx.com/video/claude-lelouch-c-etait-un-rendezvous-1976/krGNvp1wyIbmbabBUjmAdw For the infidels.

True, however, I can personally attest to the crappy parts used, most everything on the car was advanced, but at the cost of other parts. I am speaking mostly of the fiat, and pre-fiat Ferrari's

The current ones go under the post obd-1 cars for me (i.e. too much electronics)

Could be my speakers or there may be a bit of a rattle going on there - cobbles on the champs-elysees taking their toll?:D Great fun! Early Dino in blue would keep a permanent grin on my face:)

I can say this on this forum to clarify without being incinerated; a Dino is not a Ferrari.
So, what's your exposure to these cars?

There is a ferrari Dino! I helped repair a cracked exhaust manifold on one.

My experience is my summer job, I work on them (under strict supervision) :)

The 208/308 GT4s I think were badged Dino, I stand corrected if that's what you refer to. The car Whiskychaser refers to is almost certainly the V-6 Dino which was a stand alone brand, officially. The aforementioned GT4s are seldom on anyone's wish list.
I envy your summer job.

Nope, A ferrari dino =) The GT4 was a later model of the same line.

That's the one I meant. Badged only Dino when new, not Ferrari. A major way to piss off many owners is to point this out. They languished in the cellar of "Ferrari" regards for a long time.
I've never had one but understand they are very nimble, a smooth driver who can maintain good corner speed will outrun much more powerful cars in one.
Can't speak to the mechanicals other than it's a transverse mid engine so everything has to be a major PITA.

I agree, a friend has a testarossa and it's a blast. very affordable at around 50k as well these days. what kills you with ferraris are the scheduled maintenance that must be performed - a lot of it is very labour intensive.

Well put!
Factor into that that most parts are not made readily available and you get the idea

Yea lol
Just to give you an idea, to get to the exhaust manifold, we had to remove the wheel, wheel well, brakes, suspension, and alternator.
I got to ride in it and it was nice, I like the V12s way better though!
