1261 code different symptoms on identical '89 525s.
1) AT- long term owned 165k. Bad stumble on light acceleration from light load. In old days would show 1251 (injectors). Current stumble is same symptom but 1261 code (interruption of signal to fuel relay). Dynamic test shows fuel pressure drop and power interruption to fuel pump.
2) 5s- owned two years 185k just back on road after sitting for year waiting for suspension work. No operational symptoms at all but shows 1261 code.
What the heck. How can you have a momentary loss of fuel relay pick under way at 65 on hwy or 45 in town? Light to moderate acceleration to maintain speed from light load on moderate grade is typical situation.
