Sure! :) Bet a detailer would change a fortune for that level of work. I have done some of these things, but never to the level he took it.

That looks a lot like how my detailer does my car when I want it done nicely.

How much does that cost?

After the 15% BMWCCA discount he gives it's around $475 I think. He did put close to 24 hours in on my car when he last did it that nice. And it was no where near as dirty as the car in that thread. In fact it was cleaner to start with than most people keep their cars. And he still spent that many hours busting his ass cleaning everything on my car...

Why not do most of it yourself? Not being critical, just wondering. That is is a lot of money if you have it done several times a year.

BTW, your car deserves quality treatment as it is a very special car!

well, that level of polishing should be done only a max of twice a year, and many us just don't have the time or investment made in the proper equipment to do that level of work.

Fair enough. At this point, I enjoy detailing my car at about a 50% level. That may change as time goes on. I have owned the car for 5 years and have noticed that I find it a bit harder to wash and vac the car properly than I first did. :)

First off I don't have the many, many thousands of dollars worth of equipment that he has to do the job properly.

Not to mention he's constantly going to classes all over the country to continue to improve his skills. He knows waaaaay more than I do about what to do and how to do it properly.

And I only have him do such a serious detail once or twice a year. In between those serious detailings he'll do smaller detailings to maintain the car. I give it a wash & vac every week or so. As such it stays rather clean. And he's happy that I do keep it as clean as I do and wishes that all his clients took care of their cars as well as I try to.

Also, I really don't feel like spending my time detailing my car. I'm not even fond of washing/vac'ing it. I'd rather spend the $ to have someone else do it right than spend the time doing it myself.

Thanks!:D I try to keep it in the best possible condition and am keeping it all OE (except the software) as that's what makes it a very special car. And I didn't spend 2 1/2 years looking for just any E34. So why not keep it OE and make sure it continues to be not just any E34. And that's why lately I've been collecting the proper OE parts to rebuild the front suspension and keep the factory EDC rather than dump the EDC for some other aftermarket setup.

Damn, I found it difficult reading through that entire thing. Actually doing it.. I think I'll stick to trying to keep mechanical stuff in order and having my car look PRETTY good. He took that car basically back to showroom condition, in all honesty that didn't look THAT dirty even before to me for a Bora TDI... now if were an 850CSi I'd understand... Nonetheless very impressive, maybe if I had the resources and skills to do that i'd understand.
