manual unlock fix?

so i had to do the trunk light boost yesterday to get in because i had left the glovebox out and the light had drained the battery. my manual unlock doesn't work like it did before - what a pain it sucks standing next to the car for 1/2 hour playing with the lock and handle and not getting anywhere. there's no way i would have thought of jacking a battery into the trunk light it was kind of fun that part. fun but stupid.

anyway, i am replacing the ps door latch assembly soon and this just made me wonder since i'll be there if anyone ever fixed their manual unlock from the inside.
