removing seal from sliding sun roof

How do you remove the gasket/seal from the sliding sun roof? I have some rust on the inside of the roof and I need to remove the seal and get rid of the rust. Seems like it is glued on?

It should just peel off. Mine was not glued on. Check archives on how to remove sunroof panel. It must be off to replace sunroof gasket. the old e34maintenance site by Bruno had a diy.

BTW, mine had some rust under the panel. I scraped/brushed the rust off and used two coats of a rust treament to neutralize the rust and seal it.
