Can you put a Trnasmission computer in my 1991 525i from a 1995 525i?

If the two sets of numbers on the ECU are the same then you should be in with a chance. My guess is they will differ. Perhaps it might be an idea to say why you think the old one is duff and what gearbox you have?

it will bolt in but the computer systems are not compatiable 91-92 525 and 325 will drop right in (325 you need to swap the output flange, 30mm nut if i remember right, usually don't even need to change the seal) i've never tried if you can get away with swapping in the 93 and up tranny computer or if the harness changes too, it's a good bit of work if it doesn't work
